March 23, 2013 New Orleans, Louisiana

The Craftsy Quilt Cruise departs from New Orleans, Louisiana, a city rich in history and culture. Before embarking on your quilting adventure, visit local hot spots like the French Quarter, a charming area that is the oldest part of the city and home to many of its popular sites. Other fun things to do include an exploration of Bourbon Street, where you can experience New Orleans' southern hospitality firsthand as you take in some of the best jazz music in the world while enjoying unique New Orleans cuisine.



March 24-25, 2013 Quilting and Cruising at Sea

Leave your sewing machine at home! This getaway will provide you with everything you need to quilt for days.


9:00 am-12:00 pm: Morning Session
1:30 pm-4:30 pm: Afternoon Session

Choose from instructors Carol Ann Waugh, Weeks Ringle, Sue Bouchard or Pam Holland to learn new techniques.

Try couching, decorative machine stitching, hand embroidery, raw-edge cutwork, and more with Carol Ann. Give modern quilting a try with Weeks and learn Improvisational Quilting, how to work with large-scale prints, transparency quilts and much more! Sit down with Sue and learn innovative quilting from her 18 years of teaching experience. Learn specialized techniques from Pam such as pictorial quilting and much more.


4:30 pm-9:30 pm: Elective demos, make & takes, and special events:
Every night aboard the ship there will be exclusive demos from instructors and sponsors so you can continue your quilting and work on your projects.
Socialize with fellow quilters and swap tips and tricks on what you've learned and where you'd like your quilting to go. There will be special events nightly for all quilting enthusiasts to partake in!



March 26, 2013 Falmouth, Jamaica

You won't want to miss getting a firsthand look at the culture and history of Falmouth, which was once the shipment hub for sugar plantations covering the hills of Jamaica's North Coast. Take a stroll through Falmouth's Historic District to explore an impressive collection of 19th-century Georgian architecture.

March 27, 2013 George Town, Grand Cayman

Explore a beautiful stretch of coastline at Grand Cayman's world-famous Seven-Mile Beach, and sail the magnificent waters of the North Sounds. George Town is infamous for its exotic marine life and huge coral formations; view this underwater world from inside a submarine!


March 28, 2013 Cozumel, Mexico

In Cozumel, don't miss the opportunity to explore ancient Mayan ruins in the city of Tulum, which beautifully perched above the turquoise Caribbean. This site is full of culture and history, and was occupied as far back as 600 A.D. The nearby Temple of the Descending God provides equally excellent insight into Mayan architecture.

Enjoy another full day of quilting with your Craftsy Quilt Cruise instructors.


9:00 am-12:00 pm Choose another core class with one of our four instructors and learn more about their areas of expertise, including modern quilting, art quilting, pictorial, and traditional techniques!


1:30 pm-4:30 pm Continue your quilting education with an in-depth afternoon session. Feel free to switch up to a new teacher and try your hand at new methods!


March 30, 2013 New Orleans, Louisiana

The Craftsy Cruise docks back where it began, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After exiting the ship, take a bit of time to explore the culture and history of this city once again. Get a taste of the local food and flavor by indulging in beignets, gumbo, craw fish, and more! After indulging in local cuisine, head to the Garden District to view some beautiful homes and traditional architecture.
